Unnamed Dodge Challenger Spotted in Wild for first Time

Queue the Steve Irwin impression..."Crikey! Look at 'er, ain't she a beaut.  Never before have I seen this powerful creature, truly amazing mate!"

All kidding aside, we at Bennett Chrysler Dodge Jeep had actually never seen SRT's latest prototype of the Dodge Challenger in its natural habitat on the asphalt.  That is until now.

Ever since it was revealed in April that a more powerful Challenger was being drawn up, we have been eagerly awaiting to catch a glimpse of the new supercharged muscle car.  The wait is now over, as spy photos have been leaked to the public of the Challenger ripping up the roads in California's Death Valley.

Speculation tells us that this new Challenger is complete with a brand new version of Chrysler's HEMI V-8, which was aptly given the code name "Hellcat."  In addition, from the looks of the spy photos the new Challenger will sport a fresh lower intake design, mufflers with a rear diffuser and cutouts and likely a different rear bumper than the one seen in the recent photos.

This new beast has yet to be named, but we do know that it will be a direct rival of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.  With rumors floating around that the Challenger will carry close to 640 horsepower we look forward to seeing how SRT will upgrade the suspension and deal with the obvious weight issues that come with the vehicle having so much awesome power in the engine.

It looks like the Hellcat Challenger could join the new Dodge lineup here in Kingsland, Georgia sometime in the 2015 model year.  While you wait for the supercharged version to be released check out the original 2013 Dodge Challenger Coupe, and for all the latest news about the upcoming Hellcat stay tuned here at our blog.
